Marla Tuchinsky

Marla is a consultant with Triad Consulting group, and on faculty at Duke University School of Medicine’s MMCi program. In her coaching and consulting practice, she helps organizations create talent and leadership development offerings, works with teams to increase their effectiveness and supports clients to grow their leadership and communication skills. Marla combines a practitioner’s perspective with a foundation in social science.

Marla’s research and publications have focused on strategy, business communication and negotiation processes. She’s studied how working virtually affects business relationships. She has explored how not-for-profits attract, retain and motivate volunteer employees. She co-wrote the Leading from the Center book series about common challenges middle managers face. In addition, she has written dozens of custom cases and simulations for clients. Her clients have included Merck & Co., EdwardJones, ABinBev, Microsoft, Visa, NC A&T University and many others.

In past lives, Marla has been on faculty at INSEAD in France, had the Silicon Valley experience at Cisco Systems and was a Managing Director at Duke Corporate Education. She earned her PhD from Duke University and her BA and MA degrees from Stanford University. Marla has served on the board and board committees for local non-profit organizations. She has taught on every continent except Antarctica and hopes to one day “complete the set”.
