Where we come from.
Triad was founded by members of the Harvard Negotiation Project, the pioneering negotiation think tank at Harvard Law School.
Triad’s work is based on 20+ years of research, consulting, and keeping our eye on the simple question, “What works?”. This question led us to write the New York Times-bestselling books Difficult Conversations and Thanks for the Feedback, and keeps us focused on what works in the real world.
Who we are.
We are experts in the fields of negotiation, communication, and leadership. Our core values include walking the talk — we don’t just give advice about navigating difficult conversations and giving & receiving feedback. We live it day in and day out, with colleagues, with clients, and our communities.
Many of our consultants wear two hats: teaching and writing at leading academic institutions, while working with Triad clients on leadership, team, and inter-personal challenges. This enables us to bring deep research to clients in a practical way that yields results.
Founded by Sheila Heen and Douglas Stone in 1999, we are proudly certified as a women-owned small business. To learn more about our team, click here.
