Rachel Best

Rachel is a Consultant with Triad Consulting Group and a lecturer at MIT Sloan and MIT's School of Engineering, where she teaches Power & Negotiation and Negotiation & Influence for Technical Leaders.

Dedicated to making negotiation and advocacy accessible to all, Rachel is passionate about translating skills, frameworks, and proven theory into actionable guidance for her clients' current challenges. Her dynamic, hands-on approach to education has led her to teach in multiple arenas, including graduate-level courses, start-up accelerators, youth conferences, government agencies, and corporate audiences. Rachel is also involved in continued research in power dynamics and conflict as a lever to improve innovation practices and the design of real-world systems and solutions. Rachel has traveled throughout the world to speak with clients such as Google, Comcast, Delta Dental, and the Department of Defense.

Alongside her work as Triad Consultant, Rachel is the founder and managing partner for The Human Factor. In this work, Rachel provides organizations with dynamic support to tackle tough challenges, resolve conflicts, and build sustainable, effective teams. Her expertise has benefited renowned clients such as Disney, Google, and Boston Children’s Hospital. For the past five years, Rachel has been deeply embedded with NASA Aeronautics as they redefine what innovation looks like within the agency.

Outside of work, Rachel is a musician and a language learner. These days, she finds herself deeply concerned with learning how to win negotiations in her husband's native language, Portuguese.
