Principal Consultant

We have an employment opportunity for a Principal Consultant. This position is fully remote.

 As a Principal, you will:

  • “Own” client relationships and lead engagements of various forms, working in partnership with clients to develop tailored interventions from the diagnostic through delivery and evaluation phase. Engagements will typically include the design and delivery of learning workshops; team effectiveness interventions; and facilitating mediations

  • Facilitate workshops and team sessions both in remote (virtual) and in-person settings

  • Lead business development activities, including developing relationships with prospective clients, representing Triad externally, responding to inbound requests, writing proposals, and pitching and closing work

  • Manage operational & commercial aspects of client engagements, including contracting, pricing, and managing projects day-to-day, in collaboration with our Operations and Support Team staff

  • Develop new content, methodologies and thought leadership, contributing to Triad’s IP

  • Help to shape Triad’s strategic direction and future growth as a firm

  • As a senior member of Triad, be a fully engaged colleague who builds collaborative working relationships with team members and supports the development and growth of others

 As a Principal, you should:

  • Possess the background, experience, and skills that Triad clients would hold credible, including work background and academic accomplishment

  • Hold an advanced degree from a top-tier institution in a field or discipline that hones superior critical thinking, writing and analytical skills, such as an MBA, law, or social science degree

  • Have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 6-8 years in client-facing roles at a leading consulting or professional services firm

  • Have a track-record of landing, managing, and growing client engagements and/or relationships at global corporations

  • Have experience facilitating workshops to a diverse range of participants and group sizes

  • Possess strong client relationship management and stakeholder management skills; adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring excellence in the delivery of Triad’s services while also nurturing and growing the client relationship

  • Be intellectually curious; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; have superior analytical and critical thinking skills, able to see patterns and distill insights

  • Demonstrate the ability to become a trusted advisor to clients; thrive in client service, appreciating the high-intensity and unpredictable nature of client service work

  • Be willing to travel the equivalent of 1-2 weeks per quarter to deliver in-person workshops at client sites

  • Be a growth-mindset oriented, self-starter who is comfortable working remotely and is able to build strong relationships with colleagues and work productively despite being geographically dispersed

  • Be a quick-learner who can become steeped in Triad’s content and methodologies, while also bring a fresh perspective and outside best-practices to help Triad continue to improve and evolve as a firm

  • Possess excellent commercial acumen and fluency, being able to quickly understand clients’ industries and business models in addition to having a good sense for how a professional services firm operates, helping Triad continue on its own growth trajectory as an organization

  • Have a passion for organizational behavior, leadership development, team effectiveness, talent management, and/or L&D

 As a facilitator, you are:

  • Excellent at explaining complex ideas in simple, engaging ways

  • Expert at holding space (virtually or physically), bringing an energetic, open and thoughtful presence that engages the participant group

  • Able to craft a story to illustrate a clear, memorable point, often with a mix of warmth and humor

  • Able to connect with individuals in a wide variety of corporate and non-profit contexts and groups, large and small, who may be wide-ranging in their training, background and/or tenure

  • Able to balance both an expert, authoritative stance in the subject matter with an approach is that is accessible, approachable, “down-to-earth,” and unassuming

  • Unafraid to say “I don’t know”

  • Able to manage challenging questions in real-time

  • Comfortable in stressful, ambiguous situations without clear answers
