Attia Qureshi

Attia is consultant with Triad Consulting Group and a lecturer at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and Ford School of Public Policy, where she teaches strategic leadership communication, conflict resolution and negotiation. She is graduate of MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Engineering, where she spent several semesters working with John Richardson, serving as a lecturer for Sloan’s Power and Negotiation course.  She and John Richardson are now working on a book based on the teaching methods developed in that course to - working title Level Up.

Attia was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug while at MIT, putting her negotiation skills to immediate real world use.  Her first company was in the social impact space, creating high-end textiles through collaboration with women in developing countries.  She also began mediating and teaching workshops on collaborative negotiation, leadership and communication. In 2019, she began ongoing work with the State Department to mediate and resolve conflict with farmers in Colombia to reduce cocaine production. Attia takes a holistic approach using neuroscience, principled negotiation frameworks and design thinking to drive more value across the board.

Attia is originally from Michigan and received her BBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Between college and business school she worked in management consulting for Fortune 500 companies, along with subsequent work in Silicon Valley at two start-ups in healthcare and education.

A cherry and apple farmer in Traverse City, Michigan has drawn her back to her home state. She now contends with the fact that while she can negotiate on most things, the weather has yet to cooperate with her efforts.
